The object’s study is a base for every restoration treatment.

First, I write a condition report: it’s an examination of the artifact’s degradations.

Secondly, I make a diagnosis to highlight deteriorations causes.

And finally, I make prognosis: it predicts future degradation’s evolution.

Every conservator must document the conservation process.

I make a paperwork to achieve it. It contains a condition report, diagnosis, prognosis, conservation and restoration treatment description where I justify the intervention. I also included some preventive conservation recommendations.

The conservation domain is in constant motion. New technology and innovation replace, value, or improve knowledge and expertise.

Conservators are actors of this evolution. We test and search with scientists and humanities researchers.
